This week I went out with a friend, Valeria (which happens to be the girl in some of the pictures), with whom I walked around Villa Borghese and the centre of Rome while waiting for Romeo and Juliet, at the Globe Theatre, to begin. It was a goodbye day, since I'm going to America for the next six or ten months, so we spent the time talking and making plans for when I come back. Among other things, we decided to create a "Humans of Rome" page, like Humans of New York. We were quite exited about it, and we still are, I just can't wait to start!
These are the pictures I took while walking with her, and I am quite happy with them.

Questa settimana sono uscita con un'amica, Valeria (la ragazza in alcune delle foto), con cui ho fatto un giro per Villa Borghese e per il centro di Roma in attesa dello spettacolo di Romeo e Giulietta al Globe. Era il giorno per salutarsi, visto che io vado in America per i prossimi sei o dieci mesi, quindi abbiamo passato il tempo facendo piani per quando torno. Tra le altre cose, abbiamo deciso di creare una pagina "Humans of Rome", come Humans of New York. Siamo ancora molto entusiaste all'idea di cominciare!
Queste sono le foto che ho fatto mentre passeggiavamo, e evo dire che sono abbastanza soddisfatta.

I have to compliment myself with this man, because I admire his passion and will. The photos of him are among the ones I prefer. This one down here, in particular, looks as if it was painted on the left side. I have no idea how I did this, but I like it.

Devo assolutamente complimentarmi con questo signore, perché ammiro molto la sua determinazione e la sua passione. Le foto fatte a lui sono fra quelle che preferisco. Quella qui sotto, in particolare, sembra quasi dipinta nella parte sinistra. Non ho idea di come abbia fatto, ma mi piace molto.

Ute Lemper per Villa Adriana

Some time ago, on the 1st July, my father took me to Villa Adriana to listen to Ute Lemper, a dutch singer. I have to say that I have been positively impressed, I had never even heard of her (my fault), but she was really fantastic. Her voice is beautiful, and on stage she easily managed to entertain the audience. I enjoyed all the two hours, even though it wasn't my genre of music. 

Poco tempo fa, il 1° Luglio, mio padre mi ha portata a Villa Adriana a vedere il concerto di Ute Lemper, una cantante tedesca. Devo dire che sono rimasta piacevolmente impressionata, non l'avevo mai sentita neanche nominare (mea culpa), ma è stata veramente bravissima. Ha una voce bellissima, e sul palco è riuscita con facilità a intrattenere il pubblico. Ho apprezzato molto tutte le due ore di concerto, nonostante non fosse il genere di musica che ascolto di solito.  

She sang accompanied by the Contemporanea Ensemble, which was  directed by Tonino Battista. He created a show himself while directing, and with Ute they were wonderful. At one point, the clarinettist (if I remember right) couldn't find a sheet of paper, which was necessary on the following song. She began to improvise with the help of the band, until the musician found his piece of paper. They were great, everybody loved them. 

Ha cantato con l'accompagnamento di Contemporanea Ensemble, diretta da Tonino Battista. Dirigendo era uno spettacolo a sé, e lui e Ute insieme erano fantastici. A un certo punto il clarinettista non trovava uno spartito indispensabile per la canzone successiva. Lei ha cominciato ad improvvisare con l'aiuto della banda, finché il musicista non ha trovato il suo foglio. Sono stati fantastici, li hanno adorati tutti.

I love cats. It is still unsettled whether I love more cats or dogs, but either way, I love cats. The pictures of this post have all been taken in different times and places: some are friends' cats, some others I found in a public park or in a small town. I believe they are all beautiful, even though they may not seem so in the photographs.
I don't think there is anything more to say about it.

Amo i gatti. Non è ancora chiaro se amo più i gatti o i cani, ma in entrambe i casi, amo i gatti.
Le foto di questo post sono state tutte scattate in luoghi e tempi diversi: alcuni sono i gatti di amici, altri li ho trovati in un parco o in un paesino. Penso che siano tutti belli, nonostante possano non sembrarlo dalle foto. 
Non penso ci sia molto altro da dire a riguardo.

Easter, like every year, with family. I have to admit that climate has been merciful, because it gave us the possibility to spend two happy afternoons together in Villa Ada. As in every respectable family (so to speak, obviously), after a lunch cooked for a regiment and a nap in one of the aunts' houses, cousins, brothers, aunts, uncles and parents went out all together with stroller, cameras and phones. Let's say the day can be summarised in these few photographs: the little cousin spent her time on the playground, while the big cousins watched her and the uncles brought the stroller around. Rain arrived later, granting us these moments together.

Pasqua, come ogni anno, in famiglia. Devo dire che il tempo ci è stato amico, perché ci ha dato la possibilità di passare due pomeriggi felici tutti insieme a Villa Ada. Come in ogni famiglia che si rispetti (si fa per dire, ovviamente), dopo un pranzo cucinato per un reggimento e una dormita a casa di una delle zie, cugini, fratelli, zii e genitori sono usciti tutti insieme armati di passeggino, macchina fotografica e telefonini. Diciamo che la giornata si può riassumere in queste poche foto: la cugina più piccola ha passato il tempo sulle giostre mentre i cugini grandi si davano il cambio per guardarla e gli zii per portare il passeggino. La pioggia è arrivata dopo, e ci ha concesso questi momenti insieme.
